 Office Manager

Kathrine Sisson

Kathrine worked as a Legal Assistant with the Washington State Attorney General’s Office for 16 years, where she worked with Jeff Freimund and Mike Tardif at the Torts Division.  She joined Mike and Jeff in private practice in 2011.  

While at the AGO, Kathrine attended Saint Martin’s University at night and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration cum laude.  Kathrine has been the firm’s Office Manager since 2014.

Administrative Assistant 

Patti Whitaker 

Patti has been with the firm since January 2017. As our Administrative Assistant in Bellingham, she manages the front desk and assists the paralegals and attorneys with various projects. Patti has thirty years of office experience, which includes insurance billing, handling L&I claims, and managing a veterinary hospital.

In her off time, Patti is an avid horse lover. She spends most of her weekends competing in various barrel racing events or enjoying a scenic trail ride with friends and family.

Keri Olsen

Keri is currently working as the front desk receptionist at the Olympia office. Keri is a hard working person and strives to be an asset to the firm. Her bright attitude and excellent multi-tasking skills highlight her experience in the office.

Cindy Tilley

Cindy provides administrative support from the Olympia office on a part-time basis. Her operations background provides valuable insight and experience across many aspects of office administration and management.

Rayna Swope

Rayna grew up in Bellingham. She earned her AA degree from Whatcom Community College.  She has been employed at our firm since 2000.

Outside of the office, Rayna enjoys spending time with her husband and four kids – watching a variety of youth sports, trail running and camping.

Sandra Dutton

Sandra Dutton has been in the accounting profession since 1971. She started her business, Sandra's Accounting, in 1984, and has been with our firm since 1999.

Outside of work, Sandra enjoys playing golf, traveling, and gardening - not necessarily in that order.

Sunaina Aswath

Sunaina obtained her Law degree from India and a Master in Laws degree from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law. Sunaina has extensive litigation experience working as a paralegal in personal injury, commercial litigation, premises liability, timber trespass, wrongful death, property damage, and UM/UIM matters.

Outside of work, Sunaina enjoys exploring the natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest and traveling to new places with her family.

Amber Baird

Amber joined the firm in February 2023. She is a U.S. Navy veteran and health administration professional holding a Bachelor’s degree in Administrative Office Management from Central Washington University. She has a strong track record of advocacy, having served as a Veterans Benefit Specialist for the Washington State Department of Veterans Affairs (WDVA), as well as a Workers' Compensation Adjudicator and Medical Coding Specialist with the Washington State Department of Labor & Industries. 

Outside of her professional pursuits, Amber enjoys soaking up the sun on beach vacations and spending quality time with her husband, son, friends and family.

Catherine Berry

Catherine has been in the legal field for over 14 years. She joined the firm in September 2025. Prior to joining the firm, Catherine worked with several private practice law firms in Seattle, Washington.

In her spare time, Catherine enjoys cheering on the Green Bay Packers (Go Pack, Go!) and spending time with her husband and daughter.

Shaunna Carter

Shaunna was born and raised in Yakima and earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Law and Justice from Central Washington University in 1998.  Prior to joining this firm, Shaunna worked for the Washington State Attorney General’s Office for 20 years, spending her last 10 years in the Torts Division. 

 

Outside of work, Shaunna enjoys spending time with her daughter and her pets.

Tasha Cepeda

Before joining the firm in 2018, Tasha worked as a legal assistant for over 10 years at the Washington State Attorney General’s Office in Tacoma.  Tasha received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Washington.

 

When Tasha is not working part-time for the firm, she is flying the friendly skies as a full-time flight attendant.

Jessie English

Jessie earned a Paralegal Associate of Technical Arts degree at Edmonds Community College in 2011. Her prior experience includes plaintiff's personal injury and employer defense (workers' comp., WISHA / DOSH, ESD, L&I audits, and employment law).

 

Jessie joined the firm in 2017 as a litigation paralegal. Over the years her role has grown to include training and development within the firm, information security, and technical integration of legal software in day-to-day practice.

Outside the office, Jessie can usually be found in her local gym, road tripping, cooking, hiking, or gardening.

Jeanette Fagerness

Jeanette was born and raised in the suburbs of Philadelphia and earned her Associates Degree in Paralegal Studies at Delaware County Community College in 1996.  Just prior to joining this firm, she worked for the Attorney General’s Office, Torts Division.  Prior to that, Jeanette worked for private firms along the East Coast doing a variety of litigation including Family Law in the State of Florida and Real Estate Tax Litigation in New Jersey. 

 

Outside of work, Jeanette enjoys spending time with her children and pets, house projects, kayaking, the beach, road trips, outdoor events and time with friends.

Diana Foyston

Prior to joining the firm in 2018, Diana worked as a paralegal for 13 years in the Torts Division of the Washington State Attorney General’s Office.  Diana provided paralegal support in defending the State against tort claims involving employment and discrimination claims, police misconduct, premises liability, personal injury and wrongful death cases. Additionally, Diana has six years of experience doing product defense as a paralegal for Perkins Coie, LLP in the Product Liability group. Diana received her Bachelor's from the University of Washington and her paralegal certificate from Highline Community College.

 

Diana’s home base is in Orlando, Florida.  When Diana and her husband aren’t at one of the Disney parks, they enjoy collecting stamps in their passports.

Jessica Guthrie

Jessica has 16 years of experience in the legal field, with a background in litigation of personal injury, construction, and surety bonds, as well as experience with intellectual property prosecution. Jessica earned a Paralegal Certificate from the University of Washington and a Bachelor of Science in Marine Biology from the University of Hawaii.

 

Outside of work, Jessica enjoys spending time with her family, leading a Girl Scout troop, and exploring the outdoors.

Rory Hardy

Rory brings over 20 years of experience as a litigation paralegal to her work. She also served as a Guardian ad Litem and CASA for more than a decade. In 2019, Rory became a WSBA Limited Licensed Legal Technician (LLLT); she is currently pursuing a Master of Legal Studies at Seattle University. She earned her bachelor’s degree from CWU in 2015, following her AA and Paralegal ATA degrees from Edmonds Community College.

Although a Southern California native, Rory has spent most of her adult life in Washington. When she isn't working or studying, she enjoys traveling and spending time with friends, family, and her hairless cat, Batman (who is known to make frequent guest appearances on camera). She is also deeply committed to community service, with a particular passion for civil legal aid and has a self-described "bad habit" of serving on a variety of boards

Sara Luurs

Sara joined our firm in October 2025. She brings eight years of experience supporting private practice attorneys across a range of practice areas. In her spare time, Sara enjoys cheering her children on in their sports activities, camping with friends and spending time with family.

Casey Miller

Casey has been in the legal field for 30 years. She joined the firm in May 2022. Prior to joining the firm, Casey worked as a legal assistant for the Washington State Attorney General’s Office and a private practice law firm in Chehalis, Washington.

 

In her spare time, Casey enjoys cheering on the Seattle Seahawks and spending time with family, friends, and her dogs.

Holly Morado

Holly joins the firm with 17 years of experience in the legal field, including over 10 years working for the Washington State Attorney General’s Office. Holly received her Associate’s Degree in Paralegal Studies from Whatcom Community College in 2005. Holly is currently working on her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration.

 

Outside of the office, Holly enjoys running, yoga, spending time with family and friends, and traveling with her husband and two busy young boys.

Carrie Newbury

Carrie has been in the legal field for 30 years. She joined the firm in March 2022 as a litigation paralegal. Prior to joining the firm, she worked as a paralegal and legal assistant for the Washington State Attorney General’s Office and a private practice law firm in Chehalis, Washington.

 

Outside of work, Carrie enjoys Seahawks football, Mariners baseball, camping, and spending time with her family and three dogs.

Jordan Prosser

Jordan just recently joined our firm in November 2022. She comes to us with seven years experience as a legal assistant and paralegal in private practice. Her ability to adapt and eagerness to learn, paired with her work ethic, has helped her expand her knowledge and experience.

 

When she's not working, Jordan enjoys spending time with her two children, husband, friends and family. She also enjoys CrossFit, golf, slowpitch and anything competitive.

Cynthia Schatz

Cynthia joined the firm in March 2022, bringing over 25 years of experience in litigation, primarily in insurance defense. In her free time, she enjoys crafting and creating wire artwork.

Tina Schumacher

Tina recently joined our firm with over 20 years of experience working for the Department of Justice (Civil Litigation Department) and several law firms in both Canada and Bellingham.  Her recent experience is primarily with insurance defense and plaintiff work.  Tina is also a fitness coach and enthusiast. She enjoys hiking with friends, travel and watching her kids’ sporting adventures.

Jenny Singleton

Jenny has been employed in the legal field for 35 years. She worked as a legal assistant and paralegal in the Torts Division of the Attorney General’s Office for 27 years. In 2017, she left the AG’s office to work in private practice. She joined this firm in October 2024.

 

Outside of work, Jenny enjoys spending time with her family.

Tina Sroor

Tina has been a dedicated legal assistant for 37 years, with extensive experience in private practice.  She also spent seven years in the Torts Division of the Washington State Attorney General's Office. In 2021, she relocated with her husband and college-aged daughter to Central Wisconsin, where she continued her legal career at a private law firm. In June 2025, Tina joined the firm, bringing her wealth of experience and commitment to excellence. She now works remotely full-time from her home in Wisconsin.

 

Outside of work, Tina enjoys spending quality time with her family and friends. She especially loves relaxing at their permanent campsite “up north” and traveling—particularly when it involves adventures with her kids.
