Kathleen has extensive experience in handling regulatory matters and litigation involving the State of Washington and other governmental entities. Prior to joining Simmons Sweeney Freimund Smith Tardif, Kathleen was founder and managing partner of her own firm which joined with the Freimund Tardif firm. She has focused her practice on a variety of healthcare, tort, administrative, and other litigation matters. Kathleen was previously a partner at Lane Powell, and spent several years as an Assistant, and then Deputy Attorney General in the Washington Attorney General’s Office. During her career, she has represented clients, including the State of Washington, in a variety of matters, handled numerous hearings, conducted discovery, argued motions, and acted as lead counsel on numerous appeals. She has argued cases in the Washington Appellate Courts, District Courts and the Ninth Circuit.
