Prior to joining Simmons Sweeney, Alex was an Associate at Klinedinst PC, practicing in their Employment, Professional Liability, and Business Litigation groups. Early in his career Alex served as Assistant Attorney General in Seattle. Throughout his practice, he has represented clients in complex litigation matters, including deposing fact witnesses, client representatives, expert witnesses and defended client depositions. Additionally, he has drafted and argued motions, pleadings, discovery requests, objections, and responses to discovery requests. He first-chaired and assisted senior attorneys with depositions, mediation, and arbitration hearings. Alex has represented clients at trial, as well as in both state and federal appellate court.
Alex is active in his community and serves as the Board Chairman for the Washington Initiative for Diversity where he works to provide tools and strategies to help legal employers build an inclusive work environment and a diverse workforce. Additionally, he is a tutor for the Seattle public libraries, a mock trial coach for the University of Washington Black Law Student Association (BLSA), and in his free time, he coaches children’s basketball teams.
